Is it permissible to always dedicate the recitation of Surat Al-Mulk in Salat Al-Tasabih with the intention of combining the virtue of the prayer and the virtue of the Surah in forgiveness, and is this considered a bid'ah (innovation)?

Scholars have differed regarding the permissibility of Salatul Tasabih due to their differing views on the authenticity of its hadith (definition). We have favored its permissibility, though it is preferable to adhere to the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and not to specify any particular recitation for any prayer except what has been established in the Sacred Law. This is not an innovation (bid'ah).

Surat Al-Mulk holds great merit. Al-Tirmidhi and others narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, there is a Surah (definition) in the Qur'an of thirty verses that interceded for its companion until he was forgiven." There is no harm in dedicating this Surah for recitation in Salatul Tasabih, and it is not an innovation, even though it is preferable not to adhere to that.
