What is the ruling on compiling a book on the exegesis of the Holy Quran that includes the virtues of the Quran, the easiest and most concise interpretations, and those with the most indications, along with mentioning the reasons for revelation?

Indeed, interpreting the Holy Quran is a virtuous act, as it falls under teaching the Quran, concerning which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best among you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it," and his saying: "Indeed, Allah raises some people by this Book and lowers others by it."

However, this matter is extremely serious and requires precision, adherence to the authenticity of transmission, and avoidance of speaking based on mere opinion. Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Nasa'i narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever speaks about the Quran based on his opinion or what he does not know, let him prepare his seat in Hellfire." He also said: "Whoever speaks about the Quran based on his opinion has erred." So, whoever speaks about the Quran based on his opinion has undertaken what he has no knowledge of and has taken a path other than what he was commanded, even if he were to arrive at the correct meaning, he would still have erred because he did not approach the matter through its proper gateway.
