What are the best books for interpreting the Holy Quran?

Among the excellent commentaries are: Jami' al-Bayan by Al-Tabari, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, and Al-Jami' li Ahkam al-Qur'an by Al-Qurtubi. Among the contemporary, concise commentaries is: Taysir al-Karim al-Rahman by Al-Sa'di.
