Among the manifestations of Allah's preservation of His Book is the Muslims' attention to its interpretation and the diversity of interpretive works, both ancient and modern. Among the ancient tafsirs are: Ibn Kathir, Al-Qurtubi, and Al-Tabari. Among the contemporary, simplified tafsirs are: Tafsir al-Sa'di, Aysar al-Tafasir by As'ad Mahmoud, Adwa' al-Bayan by Al-Shinqiti, Aysar al-Tafasir by Abu Bakr al-Jazairi, and Fi Zilal al-Qur'an by Sayyid Qutb. These tafsirs are among the best and clearest contemporary interpretations. It is not possible to rely on a single tafsir, and some of them are clearer and more beneficial than others.
