Is the crafting of decorative sugar-paste flowers, which are not eaten but rather discarded or kept for display, considered a waste of bounty and thus forbidden, given that it is a source of income for me?

There is no harm in using edible dough and sugar to decorate food and sell it, especially if there is no other source of income. Jurists have permitted the utilization of edibles for purposes other than eating, such as washing hands with flour and bran, and using salt for purification. However, it is preferable to replace edible dough and sugar with something else non-edible for decorating food, if possible.
