What is the ruling on liquid that drips from a garbage bag containing both impure and pure substances that are not intermixed, yet there is a possibility of them becoming intermixed?

If it is probable that the liquid dripped from a ritually impure or pure place, the original ruling is that it is pure, and it does not become impure merely based on doubt. This is based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said concerning one who feels something in his stomach: "He should not leave until he hears a sound or finds a smell." It is also based on what Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, did with the owner of the basin and the spout. The original principle is that a thing remains as it was until a change becomes apparent.
