Are the paints surrounding us in the house considered ritually impure (najis) due to the possibility of them containing alcohol, and must Quranic verses be removed from the walls or should one feel hesitant about placing the Mus'haf on shelves because of this, and what is the general ruling on these paints?

The default state of substances is purity, and nothing deviates from this default except with certainty. If it is not confirmed that paints contain alcohol, then they remain pure and permissible. There is no objection to placing Qur'ans and hanging verses on them. If it is known that they contain a percentage of alcohol, but its essence has transformed and it is no longer intoxicating, then it becomes pure according to those who hold that transformation purifies, which is the view of many scholars. This view offers ease and removes hardship.
