Must zakat be paid on gold and diamonds inherited now, or can one wait until a personal income is available, and is zakat obligatory on silver, and what is its amount?

Zakat is obligatory on the due amount (nisab) of gold and silver if the conditions for zakat are met. However, if the gold and silver are in the form of jewelry prepared for personal use, then there is no zakat on it, according to the majority of scholars. As for jewelry made from materials other than gold and silver, such as diamonds and pearls, there is no zakat on them unless they are for trade. But if they are for personal use or stored, there is no zakat on them.
