What is the ruling on holding the Qur’an with the left hand while reading?

Carrying the Mushaf (Qur’an) or part of it with the left hand, if clean, is not forbidden (haram). However, it is preferable (mustahabb) to do so with the right hand, based on what was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like to begin with the right in his purification, combing his hair, and putting on his sandals. This includes everything that falls under the category of honor and veneration.
