Is a female student who has been studying in another country for ten years and refuses to return to live with her parents, using her studies as an excuse, considered undutiful?

Staying with one's parents and living with them is one of the greatest ways to show them filial piety. Being far from them may lead to shortcomings in fulfilling their rights, especially if it is without their full consent. Living alone outside the parents' country for a long time exposes a person to many transgressions. Living alone has been forbidden, as Imam Ahmad and others narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "forbade loneliness, that a man should sleep alone or travel alone." Therefore, it is advised to be accompanied by a mahram if living abroad is necessary and with the parents' permission; otherwise, you should return to them.
