What is the ruling on aborting a three-week-old pregnancy based on the husband's request and his threat of divorce?

It is permissible to abort the fetus within the first forty days of pregnancy, provided there is a legitimate Sharia interest or to avert harm. However, abortion due to fear of hardship in upbringing, inability to afford expenses, or desiring to stop at a certain number of children is not permissible. If you fear your husband divorcing you should the pregnancy continue, and he is serious in his threat, then there is no sin in aborting the fetus within the first forty days.
