هل "العاطي" من أسماء الله الثابتة؟

There is no evidence that the name (al-Aati) is among the names of Allah Almighty, nor has any scholar considered it to be so, because the names of Allah are tawqifiyyah (restrictive), derived only from the Quran and authentic Sunnah. It is not permissible to name Him with what He has not named Himself.

The Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Fatawa was asked about the ruling on naming someone “Abdul-Aati,” and it responded that it is not permissible because (al-Aati) is not among the names of Allah Almighty.

However, a group of scholars affirmed the name (al-Muti) for Allah Almighty, citing as evidence the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Allah is al-Muti (the Giver), and I am al-Qasim (the distributor)."
