What is the ruling regarding assuming the state of ihram for Umrah for a woman coming to Jeddah for study? Should she assume ihram from Jordan or from Jeddah?

Whoever intends 'Umrah must enter into ihram when level with the miqat by plane, even if they are from Jeddah or Makkah. Some scholars have permitted those who come to Jeddah to visit their families (who are residents of Jeddah) to enter into ihram from there, if their primary intention was to visit their family and not to perform 'Umrah. Therefore, if the student resides in Jeddah and came to Jordan for studies, and her return to Jeddah is primarily for her husband and home, and not for 'Umrah, then there is no harm upon her in passing the miqat without ihram, and she can enter into ihram from Jeddah. However, if the original purpose of her return was for 'Umrah, then she must enter into ihram from the miqat.
