The question

Does fasting become invalid due to doubt about the emission of prostatic fluid (madhiy) merely upon seeing a picture of a girl, and is it obligatory to wash the penis and perform ablution (wudu’) in case of such doubt? And when does prostatic fluid (madhiy) come out? And should one disregard the obsessive whispering (waswasah) about the emission of prostatic fluid (madhiy)? And how can one be certain of its emission? And do drops of urine resulting from urinary incontinence affect ablution (wudu’)?

The answer

The preponderant opinion is that the fast is not invalidated by the emission of madhy (pre-seminal fluid). One must ignore intrusive thoughts (waswasa) and pay no attention to them. The emission of anything should only be deemed to have occurred with certain conviction, and without this conviction, doubts should be disregarded. Instead, one should build upon the original principle, which is that nothing has been emitted. Swearing by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is not permissible. It is not permissible to swear by anyone other than Allah.
