What are the similarities between the palm tree and human beings, and why did the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, liken human beings to the palm tree?

The date palm was likened to a Muslim in the noble Prophetic tradition due to its abundant goodness and blessings, its perpetual shade, its good and unceasing fruit, the firmness of its root and the loftiness of its branch, and the fact that nothing falls from it that cannot be utilized. These qualities resemble the Muslim's blessings, the steadfastness of his faith, the abundance of his good deeds, and his continuous benefit to himself and others even after his death, just as the date palm is blessed in all its parts and in all its states.
