What is the ruling on working for an 'Umrah company that forges Mahram documents for women, which leads to the woman staying with her "nominal Mahram" in the same room, and in most cases, zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) occurs in such situations?

The Saudi embassy requires a mahram for a woman who wishes to travel for 'Umrah, which is what the noble Shari'ah has commanded and emphasized, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel a distance of one day and one night except with a mahram," and he also said: "No man should be alone with a woman unless she has a mahram with her, and no woman should travel except with a mahram." Therefore, what the company is doing by submitting forged documents stating the presence of a mahram for every woman applying for 'Umrah contains several Shari'ah violations:

1. It is forgery, and forgery is one of the major sins that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against by saying: "Shall I not inform you of the greatest of major sins?" (He repeated it three times) "Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents, and false speech/false testimony."

2. It contradicts what the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned against in the aforementioned hadiths.

3. It, moreover, leads to the seclusion between two non-mahrams, and Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of entering upon women," and he also said: "No man should be alone with a woman except with a mahram."

4. What you mentioned, that adultery often occurs in such cases, is an inevitable consequence of the seclusion that the company deliberately facilitates.

5. The immense sins and destructive evils involved in this are compounded by the fact that it occurs in the land about which Allah Almighty said: "And whoever intends therein [to deviate] with wrongdoing - We will make him taste of a painful punishment."

Given this, it is clear that working for such a company is impermissible, due to the cooperation with it in sin and transgression. Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty."
