How does a Muslim make their primary concern winning in the Hereafter instead of pursuing worldly pleasures?

1. Remembering death; for it is the greatest motivator for good deeds, increasing acts of obedience, and abstaining from sins.

2. Frequently reciting and reflecting upon the Qur'an, and recalling what Allah Almighty has prepared for the obedient and the disobedient.

3. Feeling a sense of inadequacy in fulfilling one's duty to Allah Almighty; this increases the servant's diligence.

4. Keeping the company of the righteous; for they are excellent helpers on the servant's path to Allah, reminding them, alerting them, making them love the afterlife, and making them abstain from this world.
