Is it permissible to use moisturizing creams?

The ruling on using moisturizing creams has been previously explained, and it is permissible to use them when not fasting, as this is even more appropriate. Their use is not prohibited unless they are so thick that they prevent water from reaching the skin during ablution (wudu) or ritual bath (ghusl), or if they are for a woman's beautification for someone other than her husband. The basic use of these creams is permissible.
