Is it permissible to suffice with testing students on specific sections of the Quranic curriculum instead of having each student recite the entire page, in order to lighten their burden and cover the large number of students within the class period?

Congratulating the teacher on his teaching of the Qur'an is among the greatest acts of closeness to Allah, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "(The best of you is he who learns the Qur'an and teaches it)," and that teaching the Qur'an is the best of deeds. As for the method of testing students, full recitation from memory is the most complete and beneficial. However, if that is not possible due to time constraints, it is permissible for the teacher to test them on specific sections. There is no legal impediment to this, and it is practiced in many Qur'an circles and schools, while ensuring diligence in fulfilling the trust and being just, and encouraging students to review what they have memorized, based on the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Take care of the Qur'an, for by Him in Whose Hand is my soul, it is swifter in escaping than camels in their hobbles."
