What is the ruling on money earned from work that caused one to miss congregational prayers, and is it unlawful for me?

Scholars have differed regarding the ruling on congregational prayer. There are excuses that permit one to miss it, such as an employee's fear of losing their job. Whoever misses congregational prayer without an excuse is sinful according to those who hold it to be obligatory. However, their salary is permissible and lawful as long as they have completed the agreed-upon work. The ownership of money has no relation to the sin associated with missing congregational prayer, and "every wealth that a servant owns is lawful for them until a right becomes attached to it."
