What is the ruling on a worshipper passing wind during prayer, whether he is an Imam leading a congregational prayer (at home or in the mosque) or praying alone? And does this invalidate the prayer in these cases?

If a worshiper becomes certain that his purification (Tahara) has become invalid, he must immediately exit the prayer, because the prayer becomes invalid when the ablution (Wudu) becomes invalid. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The prayer of one who has invalidated his ablution is not accepted until he performs it anew." It is recommended for the Imam to appoint a successor to complete the prayer with the congregants, or for them to complete it individually, or for them to appoint one of themselves to lead them.
