Is wiping sufficient to remove impurity, and how does one wipe a Mus'haf or a phone that displays Qur'anic verses?

Something that is considered ritually pure but repulsive can be purified by wiping it, though it is recommended to cleanse it with water. It is permissible for someone who is not in a state of ritual purity (i.e., not performing ablution) to touch a digital Quran on a phone, scroll through its pages, and read from it, as long as they are not in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah). This is because it does not take the ruling of a physical mushaf. There is no harm in touching it after wiping off the repulsive substance from the hand. However, a physical mushaf (paper copy) may not be touched by someone who is not ritually pure.
