Is it permissible to break the fast in Ramadan for those engaged in arduous professions, such as workers in iron and steel factories?

The fundamental principle is the obligation for all legally responsible individuals to fast during Ramadan and to form the intention for it at night, except for those whom the Lawgiver has granted a concession, such as the sick and the traveler. Those engaged in arduous labor are not like the sick or the traveler; thus, they must form the intention at night and fast. If any of them are compelled to break their fast during the day, they should break it only to the extent that alleviates their compulsion, then they should refrain from eating and drinking for the rest of the day and make up for it later. Those in charge of affairs should organize their work during Ramadan in a way that does not force them to break their fast, such as making work at night or distributing working hours throughout the day.
