What is the ruling on the wife's father refusing his daughter's return to her husband due to his bad reputation, preventing her from communicating with him, and depriving his grandchildren of him?

A guardian is not permitted to prevent a wife from being with her husband merely due to a bad reputation. After consummation, a wife's obedience to her husband is more obligatory than her obedience to her parents. If the guardian fears that the husband may harm her, the matter can be brought before the Sharia judge, who can intervene to separate the couple if harm is proven. It is not permissible to prevent the wife from speaking with her husband, or to prevent the children from him, but necessary precautions should be taken to prevent harm.
