What is the ruling on wearing hand gloves?

It is permissible for both men and women to wear gloves unless they are in a state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah, and provided that wearing them does not lead to a religiously prohibited act, such as an impermissible imitation. A woman must cover her hands and face from non-mahram men, and she may cover them with gloves or with her sleeve.
