Is it right to withdraw from trade union work and suffice with da‘wah after one becomes certain of their inability to bring about change and confront corruption alone, especially since the union in question is only concerned with demanding rights?

Establishing a syndicate is permissible if its goal is to pursue the interests of employees and fulfill their needs, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety." If the housing provided to the association's secretary does not conflict with the syndicate's internal regulations, then there is no objection to it. Otherwise, it is not permissible to take it or assist in it, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Muslims are bound by their conditions."

If the syndicate is a private, separate entity, then only the conditions agreed upon by its members apply to it, and no consideration is given to violating general laws. However, if the syndicate is subject to the general laws of the state, then adherence to them is obligatory, unless they contradict Islamic law or conflict with public interests. There is no objection to continuing membership in the syndicate to help others in righteousness and goodness as long as the work proceeds in accordance with Islamic law, and efforts should be made to remove violations rather than abandoning the work because of them.
