Is a husband permitted to humiliate and neglect his wife by spending his time at work and on the computer without paying attention to her?

A husband does not have the right to insult or neglect his wife, because married life is based on harmony, good companionship, and the endeavor of each party to make the other happy. A husband's preoccupation with other matters to the neglect of his wife is a dereliction and shortcoming in her rights. He must balance these rights and treat his wife with kindness and bring her happiness. The wife receives a great reward for her patience with her husband, and she has the right to demand her legitimate rights from him. It is preferable that this be done by engaging him in conversation and persuading him in an atmosphere of harmony and affection, by taking care of the home and her appearance, and by asking Allah Almighty to reconcile between them.
