Will God hold me accountable for my heart’s inclination towards a married person, for following his news and looking at his picture? Is this a sin that delays my marriage? Should I continue to push back against this inclination, or should I pray for God to unite me with him? Is this a trial or a sin?

A woman's mere inclination of heart towards a man is not blameworthy. However, engaging in causes of temptation, such as looking at his picture, is a sin, and the fact that it is a trial does not justify being lenient with it. This is not necessarily a reason for delayed marriage, but one must repent from sins and be cautious not to indulge in this attachment to avoid its negative consequences. One should completely turn away from this man, occupy one's time with what benefits one in matters of religion and worldly affairs, and seek Allah's help through supplication (du'a) and remembrance (dhikr) to rid oneself of attachment to him.
