How should a Saudi student studying in America respond to his friends who describe his commitment to religion and forbidding evil as extremism and question the Sharia-based evidence he presents to them?

We recommend not going along with the youth in sectarian designations, and emphasizing obedience to Allah and His Messenger, returning to the Quran and Sunnah, understanding the trustworthy scholars, and trying to guide them to respond to the command of Allah and His Messenger through what is agreed upon. Minimize mixing with them except for good, and be keen to sit with the righteous.
