Must I pay the work insurance for my husband, who is employed but does not provide for the household, especially after he hit me for my refusal?
A husband is not permitted to take anything from his wife's money or salary unless she gives it willingly, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The property of a Muslim is not lawful for another Muslim except with his willing consent." If the husband travels with his wife for her benefit, he is entitled to the cost of travel and transportation. As for the expenses of the home, children, and insurance, these are solely his responsibility, unless he stipulated a portion of her salary in return for his permission for her to work or for him to travel with her. In that case, she must fulfill the condition. A husband striking his wife without cause is oppression and aggression, and the injustice is compounded if it is done to take her money. He must fear Allah and beware of the consequences of oppression.
