Can God create a rock so big that He cannot move it, and what was God doing before creating the world, Adam, and Eve?

The methodology of the righteous predecessors (Salaf Sālih) is to shun the company of people of whims and doubts, because such company sickens the heart and bequeaths doubt. Allah Almighty is capable of all things, so the atheist's question, "Can God create a rock so heavy He cannot lift it?" is flawed, for Allah is capable of creating it, annihilating it, and moving it. Allah is nothing like His creation, no parallels can be drawn to Him, and He is not to be questioned about what He does. The manifestations of His power are clear and evident. The world and its magnificent creatures did not come into existence by chance, but by a great Creator, Allah Almighty, as confirmed by His statement: "Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain." As for his question about Allah Almighty and His actions before the creation of Adam, Eve, the heavens, and the earth, one must believe in what Allah has informed us about His prior and subsequent creation, and remain silent about what He has not disclosed to us, while believing that Allah is the Creator, the Fashioner, the All-Knowing, and that He was never inactive concerning the attribute of creation. He possesses the meaning of Lordship and Creator before the existence of the created and the creature.
