Is good faith considered a mistake in this era, and is it wrong to speak spontaneously with just anyone?

A wise person should think about what they say before speaking, and only speak when the benefit outweighs the harm. For the wise, their tongue is behind their heart; they think before they speak, while the ignorant speak whatever comes to their tongue without thinking. Therefore, do not speak unless you know that your words have a place in goodness and that their benefit is preponderant. Do not make excuses for people's ill-will after speaking words whose harm is preponderant, because by doing so, you are wronged by yourself, not by them. As for thinking well of Muslims, it is commanded unless there is a strong indication that leads to thinking ill of them.
