Is it permissible to recite a thousand verses during the day to obtain the reward of the "Muqantireen" mentioned in the Hadith: "Whoever prays with a thousand verses will be written among the Muqantireen"?

Most commentators have concluded that the aforementioned hadith, "Whoever recites ten verses will not be written among the negligent; whoever recites one hundred verses will be written among the devout; and whoever recites one thousand verses will be written among those who amass great rewards (Muqanṭirīn)," pertains specifically to the night prayer. They assert that the mentioned reward is only attained by reciting the verses during the night vigil. However, some commentators have maintained that the hadith is more general, encompassing the recitation of the Quran at any time, even though recitation during the night prayer is superior and more complete. They argue for this by stating that the hadith is unrestricted and unspecific, and that the reward of "will not be written among the negligent" indicates its generality.
