Is it permissible to contribute from Zakat al-Fitr to an employee whose money and documents were lost?

It is permissible to give your Zakat (definition) to your colleague if he is eligible, for instance, if he is poor, even if his poverty is temporary or if he possesses insufficient funds. However, if he has other funds that are sufficient for him, it is not permissible to give him Zakat.

As for Zakat al-Fitr, it is only given to the poor and needy. If your colleague's situation reaches this state, it is permissible to give it to him, bearing in mind that the majority of scholars prohibit giving it in cash, and it is not permissible to give it before its due time except by one or two days.
