Is there an origin in the authentic Prophetic Sunnah for Abu Bakr’s saying to Aisha: "Indeed, Allah does not look at you," and "When a servant is filled with self-admiration due to worldly adornments, his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, despises him until he abandons that adornment," and is it authentically reported from him?

The story mentioned is very weak in its chain of narration (isnad) due to Ishaq ibn Bishr, who is accused of lying. Its content is reprehensible and contradicts what has been authentically reported from the Prophet (ﷺ). Merely loving beautiful clothes is not a sin, for the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty." Arrogance (kibr) is "rejecting the truth and belittling people." Thus, the story is invalid both in its chain of narration and its meaning. The condemnation of arrogance and self-admiration is well-established in authentic texts and does not require such exaggerations.
