Is there an authentic hadith stating that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, supplicated for Amr ibn al-Akhtab by saying: "O Allah, beautify him," and is it permissible for a Muslim to supplicate for himself saying: "O Allah, beautify me in my own eyes and in the eyes of those around me, and grant me acceptance"?

It is permissible to supplicate with "O Allah, beautify him," for it has been authentically narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) supplicated with it for Amr ibn Akhtab. Allah answered his supplication, and he became a sign of beauty; his head and beard did not turn gray until he reached ninety-three years of age. It is also permissible to ask Allah for beauty, and for everything a Muslim loves, as long as it does not involve aggression in supplication, or sin, or severing ties of kinship.
