What is the ruling on supplicating with the words: "O Allah, make me the most frequent beholder of Your Noble Face, and of You, and the most delighted and blissful by that, and make us among those You speak to most in the Hereafter, and among those You smile upon most in this world and the Hereafter, and grant us the companionship and nearness of the Prophet in the highest Illiyyin in Paradise, and make us among those who are upon pulpits of light, envied by the Prophets, and make us among the truthful ones (Siddiqin), and give us glad tidings of all these things in this world, and grant us a sign confirming the truth of our glad tidings"?

This supplication - particularly the phrase: "O Allah, make me among those who gaze most upon Your Noble Face, and upon You, and among those who find most delight and pleasure in that; and make us among those You speak to most in the Aakhira (Hereafter), and among those You smile upon most in this world and the Aakhira" - involves asking Allah for a rank and virtue that exceeds the status of the Prophets. This is a clear transgression that Allah does not love. The Quranic supplications and the Prophetic Sunnah provide ample sufficiency, making it unnecessary to contrive such supplications. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, preferred comprehensive supplications and abandoned what was other than that.
