Is it permissible to become pregnant with a transplanted uterus from another woman?

Contemporary scholars differ on the ruling concerning uterine transplantation. The International Islamic Fiqh Academy and the Fifth Fiqh Medical Symposium have permitted it, on the grounds that the uterus is not among the gonads that transmit genetic traits, such as the testicles and ovaries. The Academy and the Symposium consider the transplantation of testicles and ovaries to be forbidden, because they transmit genetic traits and lead to the mixing of lineages. However, the transplantation of other reproductive system organs that do not transmit genetic traits is permissible out of a legitimate necessity.
