Must a wife bear financial and emotional burdens resulting from her husband's marriage to another woman, with whom his relationship led to her defloration? And would the wife be sinful if she seeks divorce from her husband who has become unable to provide for her and their children?

If the husband engages in an illicit relationship and commits adultery with a girl, he has committed two grave sins, because adultery is one of the major sins. The maintenance of the wife and children is obligatory upon the husband. If he fails to provide maintenance in the future, the wife has the right to present the matter to the Sharia judge to compel him to provide maintenance or divorce. The wife can claim back what she previously spent if it was not a donation. If the husband marries the woman with whom he committed adultery, the marriage is valid according to some scholars after repentance and ensuring the woman is not pregnant. It is not permissible for the wife to compel her husband to divorce her.
