Is it permissible to divorce a wife whose companionship has become unbearable due to her lying and stubbornness, knowing that she refuses divorce and has agreed to waive her marital rights, and that the husband has become psychologically repulsed by her and does not wish to have children with her?

It is advisable to be patient with one's wife and to treat her kindly. If she agrees to forgo her rights, there is no sin in that. It is permissible to marry another woman while she remains in one's wedlock. Divorce is also permissible when needed due to a wife's bad character and the husband's suffering, but it is better not to rush and to try to reform her. Patience, overlooking mistakes, and focusing on the good aspects are essential for marital stability. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A believing man should not hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another." Furthermore, mutual love is not a prerequisite for marital stability.
