What is the interpretation of the verse: "You will surely find the most intense of people in animosity toward the believers to be the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will surely find the nearest of them in affection to the believers to be those who say, 'We are Christians.' That is because among them are priests and monks, and they are not arrogant"?

This is due to the depth of their hatred for Islam and Muslims, out of transgression, envy, stubbornness, and disbelief. As for those who say, "Indeed, we are Christians," they are the closest in affection to the believers because among them are priests and monks, and because they are not arrogant. And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, their hearts are humbled, and they believe. However, this ruling is confined to a specific group among them, not everyone who claims Christianity.
