Is it permissible to take someone as a role model, and to write their name or draw their picture or write a sentence about them in a notebook to remember diligence and excellence?
Emulation and taking someone as a role model are important means for education and calling to Allah, and they are permissible if the role models are righteous and benevolent. It is not permissible to emulate others in matters that contravene the Sharia. One must be wary of excess and extremism regarding those who are emulated. The best role model is the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, his companions, the Mothers of the Believers, the women companions, and those who followed their path. Therefore, there is no harm in emulating that girl in what does not contravene the Sharia. However, keeping pictures is not permissible.
