Is it permissible to join the congregational prayer while suppressing the urge to relieve oneself (defecation or urination) and with no water available for ablution, for fear of missing the prayer?

It is disliked for a worshipper to begin prayer while suppressing the urge to defecate or urinate, due to the resulting reduction in khushu' (devotional humility). If a worshipper is suppressing the urge to urinate or defecate and cannot find water for wudu' (ablution), it is preferable for him to relieve himself, then perform tayammum (dry ablution), and then pray; because prayer performed with tayammum and a present heart is better than prayer performed with water but lacking khushu'. The prayer of one who performs tayammum is valid without dislike, by consensus, whereas praying while suppressing the two impurities (feces and urine) is prohibited and disliked. Some scholars have even gone as far as to deem it haram (forbidden) and invalid.
