Is taking a usurious loan to facilitate marriage and purchase necessities considered a sin, and is a constricted livelihood a punishment from Allah for that, and how can one repent from this sin?
Borrowing with usury is among the gravest of forbidden acts and is not permissible except in cases of extreme necessity (fear of perishing). Whoever borrows with usury without necessity has committed a great sin and must offer sincere repentance by abandoning the act, regretting it, and resolving never to return to it, while repaying the principal of the loan without the usurious increase. Repentance erases what came before it, and one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin. The repentant person is not punished for their sin, neither in this world nor in the hereafter. Financial hardship is not necessarily a punishment for disobedience, and its knowledge is with Allah. Renewing repentance is required, for affliction descends due to sin and is not lifted except through repentance.
