What are the convincing reasons for the prohibition of eating pork, and how can Westerners be convinced of it, especially as they claim it does not harm them, and that some Arabs eat it and still keep their protective jealousy (ghirah)?

The fundamental principle regarding Allah's decrees is acceptance and submission, whether the wisdom behind them is known or not, because faith in Allah does not depend on comprehending the wisdom in every detail of legislation. The claim that eating pork does not cause harm is not supported by scientific facts, which have proven its contamination with germs. As for the argument that jealousy (ghirah) among Arabs would not disappear even if they ate pork, this claim is belied by reality, as those known to do so are non-Muslims. And Allah’s statement suffices: (for indeed, it is an abomination).
