The question

Regarding Allah Almighty’s saying: (and Kawa'ib Atrab[1]) does it describe the women of this world or the Houris, and will a woman in Paradise be granted her wish to appear in a certain way, such as her rejection of full breasts, or will this desire vanish? [1] Arabic for "full-breasted, of equal age."

The answer

The verse: (And full-breasted [companions] of equal age) [An-Naba'/33] describes the women of Paradise as being in the prime of youth and beauty, with their breasts prominent and not sagging, and not elderly. This description does not imply large breasts, but rather perfect and beautiful bosoms, and it is not exclusive to the Houris. Questions that object to the delights of Paradise stem from a flaw in understanding Allah's religion, and this flaw manifests in:

1. Belief in Allah and His Attributes: For Allah, the Exalted, is All-Knowing, All-Wise, Most Merciful, Most Generous, and He is not questioned about what He does. Submission to His commands and wisdom is the essence of faith.

2. Belief in the Unseen: Paradise and its delights are among the unseen matters that must be believed in and affirmed in everything that has been reported about them. Objecting to them by analogy with this world indicates a weakness in faith.

3. Corrupt Analogy: It is not permissible to compare the perfect, faultless delights of Paradise with the deficient, flawed delights of this world. Nothing in Paradise resembles anything in this world except in names.

4. Concept of Worship: Correct faith combines fear and hope. Whoever fears a bad ending and Hellfire will be preoccupied with seeking salvation and winning Paradise without objecting to the details of its delights.
