What is the definition of "aqra'ahum" (the most knowledgeable of them in recitation) in the Hadith: "The people are led in prayer by the one among them who is most knowledgeable of the Book of Allah," and does it mean the one with the best memory, or the one most skilled in the rules of recitation (tajweed), or the one who most reveres the verses of Allah, or the one most committed to acting upon them?

The meaning of "اقرؤهم" (aqra'uhum) is the one among them who reads, masters, and memorizes the Quran the most. Scholars have differed in their opinions regarding this; some said it refers to the one who has memorized the most, while others said it refers to the one who reads best. The more evident opinion is that it refers to the one who has memorized the most Quran, as evidenced by the hadith of Amr ibn Salamah concerning his imamate for his people, and the hadith of Salim, the mawla of Abu Hudhayfah, leading the Muhajireen in prayer. A condition for prioritizing the aqra' is that he must be knowledgeable of the rulings of prayer and free from فسق (moral transgression).
