Is the Hadith true that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to place his feet in a bucket of water after performing ghusl?

There is no hadith with the wording "Whoever performs wudu' and then ghusl." However, it is authentically reported in the Sahihayn from the hadith of Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, moved aside after performing ghusl and then washed his feet. Scholars differed regarding the reason for delaying the washing of the feet. Some believe it was to remove dirt or mud, while others consider it a Sunnah. It is reported in narrations from Aisha that he, peace and blessings be upon him, performed a complete wudu', including washing his feet, before performing ghusl. However, in most narrations from Maymunah, it is stated that he performed wudu' and then washed his feet after performing ghusl. Al-Nawawi reconciled between the narrations by stating that Al-Shafi'i has two opinions on this issue. The more prevalent view is that wudu' should be complete, including the washing of the feet, and that washing them after ghusl was to remove mud, not for the state of janabah. This is the more complete and preferable approach. As for the narration that mentions delaying the washing of the feet, it was to show permissibility.
