The answer

Mattresses and similar items are not purified by drying, but by pouring water over the defiled spot. As for the earth and what is connected to it, some scholars say it is purified by drying. If a defiled hand or an object that touches it is wet or moist, the impurity transfers; otherwise, it does not. Doubt about the transfer of impurity is not considered, as the 기본 (original principle) is non-transfer. If one is certain that impurity has transferred to something, it is not obligatory to purify it unless it is intended for use in prayer. Purification is achieved by submerging it in water until the substance of the impurity disappears, or it is sufficient to submerge the defiled spot in water if it is a

حكمية (legal impurity). Smooth objects are purified by wiping, according to some scholars.
