Is it permissible to acquire knowledge from innovators regarding matters of worship if it is not available among the people of the Sunnah?

The danger of innovation (bid'ah) is great. Therefore, scholars have commanded the boycotting of innovators for their own benefit and the benefit of society, but this boycotting has its controls. General, public interaction with an innovator leads to their persistence in their innovation and people being deceived by them. Taking knowledge from an innovator is divided into two sections:

1. Knowledge in which their innovation is involved: It is not permissible to take knowledge from them, except for someone who possesses a complete tool for distinguishing innovation and is safe from being influenced, while exercising absolute caution by refraining entirely.

2. Knowledge in which their innovation is not involved: It is permissible to take knowledge from them if there is an urgent need for their knowledge, and no one else is available, and their temptation is secured against. However, if there is no strong need, or if someone else is available, or if the temptation of their innovation is greater than the loss of their knowledge, then taking knowledge from them is prohibited.
